Let's imagine for a moment little mouse in Virginie Becourt's workshop. There is a cozy, calm and soothing atmosphere, reflecting the discretion of the occupant of the premises. Would she chase us away?

Virginie is in her bubble, solitude is her essential.

Could little mouse sneak in, come and browse?

But would Virginie even see us?...

In the middle of her incredible materials that she goes hunting for and in the silence of her workshop, seated at her work table, a wooden frame on her knees on which she has stretched her canvas, her hands are busy, folding, twisting , constrain, prick, tame matter. A real hand to hand, a dialogue is established between the two.

Who guides the other? Who controls it? Virginie couldn't say.

In a true work of introspection, these repetitive gestures are also meditation.

His imagination does the rest. The ritual of his gestures soothes him.

Among other materials, Virginie uses strips of cotton twill of different widths and thicknesses. She guides them to create a work of volume.

Some works will then be sewn onto a metal form. They will then adapt to its shape to better adhere to it, stick to it and become one to become almost alive.

An intangible emotion emerges.

Virginie succeeds in immersing us in her universe, an aquatic universe made of silence, softness and simplicity, further accentuated by her textile scans.
